Well, I started this business for many reasons. I’ve never told anyone I’ll make it a success, because 90% of businesses fold within the first year.
Today was another setback – we rejected a bulk of yoga pants which is slightly translucent. Nothing new, but I don’t know how long I can get hit by such waves before I eventually fall. Mostly, its with the suppliers. I have a really high standard for my apparals (and this is one of the big reason I started Vivre). And so, I will not risk Vivre’s brand name just to cut down my losses.
To be honest, after looking at so many brands, Lululemon seem to be the one with a really good fit. But the price is sky high, like $150 for a pair of yoga pants. After starting this business, I know why they have to price it at such a price.
Because as business owners, we have to bear the marketing cost, defective goods cost, unsold goods cost etc. At the end of the day, we do not earn as much as people think. For me, I’m coming up with products comparable to these big brands, but selling at 1/3 of the price. I don’t know if I am being naive to believe this can be done. But let’s give Vivre one whole year to prove herself.
With customers like the below, it gives me strong little pushes. Thank you so much!
