A little thought that swift passed my mind during practice today, I thought I’ll share it for fun. Of course in reality there are tonnes of differences between the two, duh. For example, you can drink in class between poses so it is not that bad.
Finding peace in Hot Yoga is like finding peace in train rides during rush hours in my home town. The basic rules and tips apply:
1) Breathe
It’ll get sweaty, stuffy, and if you are lucky you get some quirky smells in the enclosed area. Breathe.
2) Balance
Hang on to your balancing poses, and you’ll perfect it.
3) Show Compassion and Don’t Judge
Don’t be distracted by people who speaks loudly, loses balance, sweats excessively, puts on overwhelming make-up, or possesses angelic figures etc. Focus internally.
4) Listen to Relaxing Music
Music has a soothing effect that calms us down and shut us away from noise.
5) It Makes You Curse
Sometimes it makes you wonder why you are here. Most of the time you can’t wait for it to end. Under such conditions, It’s a perfectly normal thought.
6) Feels Like A Warrior
Complete the journey with smiles and feel like a peace warrior.

And in case you are wondering what is Bikram (Hot) Yoga, It is a yoga class that runs for 90 minutes under an intense heat of approx 42 degrees celsius. It consists a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises.
Unlike other sports/activity, you can’t scream nor fight your opponent when you need to push yourself further. With chaos running through your mind, learn to overcome by focusing, meditating, and finding peace within.
Namaste.
