Social Media platforms have been a great avenue for me to be inspired by the things some my schoolmates are doing. Pursuing dreams, travelling, creating memories. Some are pilots, cabin crews, artistes, entrepreneurs, make-up artist, salesman, housewives, traders, yoga teachers, PT trainers, speakers, hosts, etc. Well, most of them attained a degree cert and ain’t really using them.
Lots of adults (they kind of still refer my generation as kids), would say that the kids nowadays are a naive and lazy bunch. Opting for the easy way out in life. In fact, those people whom I mention above are the ones who are working doubly hard pursuing their passion in life. They might not be holding the most glamorous job, the money they bring back might not be stable or sky-rocket high, but they are happy!
I’ve started working since 16, and although I have never really hated any of my jobs, I can’t find the motivation to stay on more than 1.5 years. Happens to lots of my friends! Maybe that’s why many says our generation can’t take hardship. People used to be happy working hard, having enough money for the family equates to satisfaction. But for us, perhaps with more exposure to information, find that happiness should be a little more than that.
Although my future is much more blurry than before, I am feeling like an adult with responsibilities falling on myself, working hard for something I believe in. Success, if not defined in monetary form, I would say I’m quite successful at this point of time! Am hoping I can continue doing this forever. But what are the chances businesses can sustain on? 10%? Shall put this reality aside for now!
